During our trip to Home Depot, the we picked out a beautiful little shelving unit to serve as Highland Park High School's first Little Free Library! Together, we learned how to use different tools, including their names and uses, as well as safe ways to manipulate them. We took turns using hammers and screw drivers to assemble our little library, and make it sturdy to uphold the weight of all our books. We painted owls on the sides to make it aesthetically pleasing, and created signs to be hung above it to let the Highland Park community know the purpose of the little library. We stuffed our little library with tons of books, and are very excited to see it being used with all our peers in the school!
